About Our Sundubu Jjigae
Wakoya Sushi brings Korean comfort food to Osborne Village alongside its Japanese sushi menu. Sundubu jjigae is one of the clearest expressions of that Korean side: silky soft tofu simmered in a spicy broth with seafood and vegetables, with an egg cracked in.
It is a favourite on cold Winnipeg evenings and pairs especially well with a lighter maki or a couple of regular rolls.
What Makes Our Sundubu Jjigae Special
Our sundubu jjigae is cooked to order so the tofu stays delicate and the broth arrives hot. It is served with rice to balance the heat. If you enjoy spicy Korean stews, also try our Gamjatang, a spicy pork bone stew with potato and vegetables.
